[09:53] {Threei}  Palm, Inc MSNBC comments on early demand trends for the "Pre" released exclusively for Sprint this weekend
[09:53] {Threei}  - According to MSNBC, the lines were much shorter than those that developed around Apple stores for its first iPhone 2 years ago.
[09:53] {Threei}  - A Sprint spokeswoman said late Saturday that Sprint had sold out of Pre phones at a number of different locations around the US and that the company was doing its best to restock stores.
[09:53] {Threei}  A related report from mocoNews.net noted that hours after the Pre went on sale on Saturday, retailers started reporting shortages of the devices and were adding customers to waiting lists.
[09:53] {Threei}  - mocoNews.net added that one report disclosed that 1 Sprint store in San Francisco sold 60 Pre devices within 2 hours.
[09:54] {dino} good news is bad i guess
[09:55] {Threei}  well, at the same time:
[09:55] {Threei}  ** Note, weekend FT report cites early positive reviews from critics, but also sees entering a "crowded" smartphone market from a "standing start" as a big challenge. Report mentions marketing and "app store" development costs falling on the company; also sees success of the launch being hindered by exclusivity to Sprint, which is perceived as 2-nd tier in quality wireless network. Suggests the initial report on demand for Pre could determine if the company will remain independent or be acquired by a larger smartphone player

[11:45] {Threei}  chart may not be the answer
[11:46] {nemo} I understand.  I was just saying from two different data feeds there was evidence of transactions below .60  I didn't look for prints
[11:46] {Threei}  let it drop under .60 and look for it to stabilize near .50 or lower
[11:46] {Threei}  alternatively, if never loses .60, .67 becomes long trigger
[11:48] {Threei}  if you have out of bounds print at .55 while bids and offers never actually went there, it can be dismissed, even though it will be reflected by chart as a tail
